About This Site

Developing an eating disorder as an athlete is unique. We come from a world where our motivations are rooted so deeply in our athletic performance and our behaviors are often revered. When you finally reach a point where you have to recover, separating your eating disorder from your identity as an athlete feels almost impossible. That is when you look for help, you search for someone who understands. But your teammates and family don’t get it, your therapist definitely doesn’t get it, and the eating disorder community ALMOST gets it, but not fully. Your deepest thoughts, behaviors, and fears can only truly connect with someone who comes from the same world, another athlete with the same experience. I struggled to find resources specifically for athletes with eating disorders. I struggled to find other athletes with eating disorders; but when I did, it made a significant impact because I was finally understood. That is the purpose of this site. To provide a resource to other athletes with eating disorders so that they can hopefully relate to the content and not feel alone in this battle to recover.
